This is an easy homemade condensed milk recipe. The taste of this condensed milk is more rich than store-bought. It is a thick milk and sugar syrup that we used in making many desserts. It requires 3 simple kitchen ingredients that are easily available in every kitchen.
Ingredients of Homemade condensed milk:
Milk:
It is a base ingredient in this recipe. The water content of milk is evaporated in it to make it condense.
Sugar:
we use sugar to sweeten the condensed milk and for caramelization of it.
Baking Soda:
It is totally optional ingredient. But I like to add a pinch of baking soda while making condensed milk because it gives a fluffy and creamy texture to the milk.
Tips and tricks for making homemade condensed milk
If you don’t milk dairy condensed milk then you can replace milk with coconut water. It also tastes good and can be cooked easily.
You can use honey, maple syrup instead of white sugar.
Cook over low and medium flame soo milk does not stick to the bottom of the pan.
Evaporated milk is different from condensed milk. In evaporated milk water content of milk is evaporated while in condensed milk sugar is added to make is caramelized and sweetened.

- Take a heavy bottom sauce pan and put it on flame and heat it.
- Then add 2 cups of milk and sugar in it. and mix with spatula soo the sugar dissolves completely. Then simmer milk for about 30 minutes until it reduce to half.
- Then add a pinch of baking soda this step is totally optional but I add it because it gives milk fluffy and creamy texture.
- Let it cool and store in air tight jar for up to 1 month in fridge.
